8. Cloudflare Turnstile

Our sign-in and registration pages use Cloudflare Turnstile, an invisible bot-detection tool. Turnstile runs automatically in the background and collects certain client-side signals — including IP address, TLS fingerprint, user-agent, and site key — solely to distinguish human visitors from bots. No visible challenge is presented to most users.

Cloudflare does not use these signals to identify or profile individuals. Cloudflare processes this data both as a service provider on our behalf (to protect our site) and as an independent data controller (to improve Turnstile's bot-detection capabilities). Linear Science does not control Cloudflare's processing for the latter purpose.

EU and UK Residents

When Cloudflare processes Turnstile signals as our service provider, we are the data controller and Cloudflare acts on our instructions. When Cloudflare processes signals to improve its own systems, Cloudflare is the data controller and relies on its legitimate interests as the legal basis for that processing.
